Conveners Group Each committee in the Parliament has a convener. The Conveners Group is made up of all the conveners. It is chaired by the Presiding Officer or a Deputy Presiding Officer. The Conveners Group meets regularly to:
- Discuss issues affecting committees
- Communicate between the committees and other parts of the Parliament, like the Parliamentary Bureau and SPCB
- Look at how committees are working
- Make recommendations to the Parliamentary Bureau about committee business in the Chamber
- Approve committee meetings taking place outside of Edinburgh
- Approve committee travel outside the UK
